Welcome to Cosumnes River Elementary School, Home of the Roadrunners!   We are looking forward to partnering with you during the 2023-2024 school year. We are confident that this will be a successful year for all our students, and we welcome the challenge to continue to ensure that all students will become lifelong learners and reach their full potential. Cosumnes River Elementary School prides itself on preparing students for a successful academic career, as it has since the 1840s! 

We will continue to follow our Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS) this school year with a focus on being: Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to Learn.   You will see these behavior expectations posted throughout the school and your child will be learning them during his or her first two weeks at school.  We believe that a safe, orderly, positive, learning environment is essential to academic achievement. 

Our four main goals here at CRES are:  1) increase academic achievement, 2) increase student social and emotional well-being, 3) ensure a safe, positive learning environment for all students, and 4) increase partnerships with families to promote school improvement. 

We, at CRES, are fortunate to have tremendous support from our parents and community partners. I encourage all families to find a way to become involved with our school and teachers.  A strong partnership from school to home will always be an important part of a child’s educational journey. We look forward to partnering with you throughout the year. 

This handbook includes a great deal of information regarding our school. Please take time to read the information and refer to it as questions arise. Please discuss this information with your children and let me know if you have any questions.
